Giselle Wilkinson has been a social and environmental activist for over thirty years. Influenced by early experiences of communal living and travel and her studies toward a Masters degree in Education, Giselle realised earlier then most that choosing to live consciously is a powerful force for positive change.
Melbourne-born and growing up through the heady 1960’s, her roles as mother, business-woman, educator, student and activist have defined her. Her involvement in founding and shaping the Sustainable Living Foundation – a community based not for profit organisation that informs and inspires the wider community about sustainable living - continues to satisfy her deep longing to help catalyse change and to stimulate and empower others to engage.
Giselle’s passion for life is visible in a home that reflects sustainability in action. The house vibrates with the energy of young people and two friendly dogs while the yard is home to a collection of ducks and chooks.
Always appreciative of good food, the kitchen is filled with delicious cooking smells. Her creativity is also reflected in her original artwork and her productive vegetable garden and fruit trees.
In her daily life Giselle has been an inspiration to her children, her extended family and the vast network of supporters and fellow workers for a sane and healthy society. And all of it is done with style, humour and hope.
